History of ğDragees aus WesekeĞ
Dragees aus Weseke was founded in 1964. 1979, the business was sold to the English Company Associated Biscuits. Already during this period the business developed its reputation as the leading supplier of high quality chocolate coated products in the German and European Dragee market.
Begin of the 80's, Associated Biscuits was sold to the American group Nabisco, however, in 1986, the decision was taken not to continue the business in Germany.
In April 1987, the English group Hazlewood Foods acquired the business but did not have a clear strategy for the development of the location Germany. Hazlewood took the decision to rationalise its product groups in 1990 and sold the Confectionery sector in July of the same year to a management by out Consortium known now as Portfolio Foods.
End of June 1996, Portfolio Foods decided to sell the German business by a management buy out to the German Managing Directors of Dragees aus Weseke.
To underline the importance of Quality in our company, we decided in 1997 to apply for DIN EN ISO 9001 certification. In July 1998, we have successfully been certified.
Since 1964, our name is a byword for quality and flexibility. During this time, characterised by stability and competence, a bond of trust has been created between our customers, our company and our suppliers. In this, the high quality of our products and the reliability of our service is reflected.
2010 the swabian chocolate-businessmen Claus and Oliver Cersovsky, owner of the Rübezahl Schokoladen GmbH, found the Weseke Dragees GmbH and take over the trademark rights of Dragees aus Weseke.
